Wests Tigers vs Cronulla Sharks Preview & Prediction

The Sharks have their sights set on another crushing win when they come up against the struggling Tigers on Thursday night at CommBank.

It’s turning into another nightmare season for the Tigers, who hit a new low last weekend when they suffered a crushing 74-0 defeat to the Cowboys.

It was the third-biggest defeat in league history and the largest margin of loss in NRL history, with the two others coming way back in 1935. Doesn’t get much more embarrassing than that for the Tigers.

Now, the Tigers have a terrible match-up against a Sharks side who love beating up the weaker teams.

Cronulla have won their last two Ames against the Bulldogs and Dragons by 48-10 and 52-16 scores and they will fancy themselves to rack up another big total here.

The Sharks are unaffected by Origin, with Nicho Hynes overlooked once more and free to lead his side around at halfback.

The Tigers have only scored three tries across their last three games with Luke Brooks and Api Koroisau out injured, while they lose more strike-power out wide for this game with David Nofoaluma and Brent Naden sidelined.

VERDICT

It’s set to be another long night for the Tigers. They have no attack at the moment, while obviously their defence is non-existent.

As mentioned, the Sharks have been bullying the weaker sides in the competition over the last couple of years and that’s set to continue on Thursday night. Cronulla have covered a -21.5 line in their last two wins and in their last three meetings with the Tigers, winning by 36-12, 30-4 and 50-20 scores (Best Sharks -21.5 line odds $1.87 with bet365.)
