Sea Eagles vs Eels Preview and Prediction

Manly will be confident of picking up their third straight win over Parramatta when the two clubs renew their storied rivalry on Saturday night.

The Sea Eagles have been one of the form teams in the NRL since Tom Trbojevic returned from injury after missing the first month of the season and they are well positioned to make a late dash for the top four.

Des Hasler’s side produced a solid effort in going down 28-18 to competition leaders Melbourne last week – and if not for some loose carries at crucial stages, they easily could have playing for the win in the dying stages.

Tommy Turbo’s combination with Daly Cherry-Evans and his outside backs has been key for Manly piling on the points this season and they will be targeting another big score against an Eels side who are quickly seeing their premiership hopes fade away.

Parramatta come into this encounter having lost their last three matches, with both the Roosters and Manly now looking more likely to claim fourth spot.

The Eels have struggled significantly in attack, failing to eclipse 12 points in their last three games, while they lost 28-0 to the Roosters and 40-12 to the Rabbitohs over the last fortnight.

Not the form you want to bring into a game against a side who is equipped with the most dangerous player in the NRL….

VERDICT:

Manly steamrolled Parramatta 28-6 earlier in the season and a repeat result looks very likely here.

Mitch Moses’ return did nothing to rejuvenate the Eels’ attack, while their defence has been leaking tons of points against the best sides over the last two weeks.

All signs point to another routine win for the Sea Eagles (Best Manly win & Over 46.5 points odds $2.05 with Sportsbet)

Sea Eagles vs Eels Teams

Manly lose Taniela Paseka and Toafofoa Sipley to injury and suspension, with Kurt De Luis and Curtis Sironen coming onto the bench.
