Warriors vs Knights Preview & Prediction

Languishing at the wrong end of the ladder, the Warriors and Knights both know the importance of picking up two points in Redcliffe on Saturday afternoon.

The Warriors have lost three straight games to go from sitting inside the top eight to 12th on the ladder, while the Knights have experienced a disastrous run of form since going 2-0 to begin the season, losing eight of their last nine and falling into the bottom two.

Apart from a 70-10 crushing to the Storm and going down to a 12-man Sharks side, the Warriors haven’t been too bad this season, with their last two defeats to the Rabbitohs and Dragons coming by two and six points respectively.

Nathan Brown’s side other three defeats were also by eight points or less, so the Warriors aren’t that far off the pace, but once again consistency is an issue.

Returning to their makeshift home of Moreton Daily Stadium will provide some confidence for this clash, with the Warriors winning all three of their games at the venue this season, including over the in-form Broncos and Cowboys.

Meanwhile, the Knights continue to struggle and were once again blown off the park at home last week, leaking 36 points to the Broncos who were without Adam Reynolds.

All too often the Knights are caving in when the going gets tough or they get some poor calls against them. Adam O’Brien has a lot of work to do and will be hoping Anthony Milford can provide some much-needed spark to their stuttering attack – although his seasons at the Broncos don’t offer much hope.

VERDICT:

Neither side is playing well at the moment, but the Warriors are showing more promise and offering glimpses of their potential, while the Knights have lost eight of their last nine and don’t look like turning things around.

With the Warriors undefeated in Redcliffe this season, we’ll back them home in a tight one, with the last two meetings between the teams decided by exactly four points (Best Warriors win H2H odds $1.75 with Ladbrokes.)
