Roosters vs Warriors Preview and Prediction
Sydney Roosters target their fourth consecutive win over the Warriors when the two sides clash at the SCG on Sunday night.
However, if they are to extend that winning streak, the Roosters will need to do it without starting halves Luke Keary and Lachlan Lam, who both suffered knee injuries during last week’s brutal loss to the Rabbitohs.
The Roosters were blown off the park by their arch-rivals and the game may have just cost them a chance at the premiership, with scans confirming Keary would miss the remainder of the season.
It’s a huge blow for the Roosters, but they still possess a world class side and backline, while young gun Sam Walker now has a chance to step up and make a name for himself in the NRL.
Meanwhile, the Warriors have won two of their three matches in 2021 – including a thrilling 34-31 triumph over the Raiders in the nation’s capital last week.
The Warriors trailed by 19 points in the second-half but managed to score four unanswered tries to stage a miraculous comeback.
Addin Fonua-Blake continues to enhance his reputation as one of the best forwards in the NRL and his battle through the middle with Roosters enforcer and former Kiwi teammate Jared Waera-Hargreaves will be one to watch.
Much has been made of the Roosters losing Keary and they certainly do face an uphill battle to claim the premiership this season, but any side with James Tedesco, the Morris twins, Victor Radley and Angus Crichton are still going to be very hard to beat.
The Roosters have a great record at the SCG and I think they can bounce back strongly here with a win.
