Knights vs Storm Preview & Prediction

The Knights were absolutely abysmal last week and they faces one of the toughest possible follow up assignments when they host a rampant Storm outfit on Sunday afternoon.

Newcastle dished up an embarrassing performance in front of their home fans over the Anzac weekend, copping a 39-2 demolition from the Eels.

Adam O’Brien was forced to apologise after the game for his side’s display, with some of their defensive efforts downright disgraceful.

On top of that, the Knights couldn’t even muster a single try as they slipped to their fifth straight defeat. Kalyn Ponga is under immense pressure to perform after re-signing on a new lucrative deal, with many arguing the fullback isn’t worth the money he’s demanding.

Meanwhile, the Storm are firing in all cylinders and coming off an equal-club record victory over the Warriors, registering a crushing 70-10 victory on Anzac Day.

Melbourne have now won four straight since their golden point defeat to the Eels, with all of those victories coming by 13+ margins.

Craig Bellamy’s side are looking every bit as dangerous as their last decade or so of dominance and will be out to make another statement on Sunday.

VERDICT:

It would be one of the biggest turnarounds in history if the Knights were somehow able to register the upset here.

We do think Newcastle will offer some sort of response at home – how could they not – but the reality is the Storm are a far superior side and if they keep their foot on the pedal, they win this comfortably (Best Storm 13+ & Under 58.5 points odds $1.70 with bet365.)
