Cronulla Sharks vs North Queensland Cowboys Preview & Prediction

The Sharks will be aiming to remain in first spot on the ladder as they welcome the Cowboys to PointsBet Stadium on Sunday.

There’s no doubt Cronulla received a favourable draw to open the season, facing the Warriors, Bulldogs, Tigers, Raiders and embattled Rabbitohs.

Craig Fitzgibbon’s side’s lone defeat was a heavy one, falling 32-6 to the Tigers, but they responded by putting 30 points on the Raiders and Rabbitohs.

Now, the Sharks have another good draw, facing the Cowboys at home, while they also welcome back Braden Hamlin-Uele for his first game of the season.

North Queensland have also enjoyed a decent draw to start the season and find themselves in fourth spot on the table.

However, the Cowboys were poor last week, losing 27-20 to an Eels side without Mitchell Moses who had received a 40-point hiding to Canberra the previous round.

Still not convinced with the Cowboys outside of Queensland, while they have struggled in recent times against the Sharks.

VERDICT:

Cronulla have won 10 of the last 11 meetings between the teams and are definitely deserved favourites at home here.

Can’t back a Cowboys side that failed to fire against a poor Eels side last week, so expect the Sharks to grind this one out (Best Sharks win H2H odds $1.65 with Dabble.)
