Parramatta Eels vs North Queensland Cowboys Preview & Prediction
An intriguing clash awaits at CommBank on Super Saturday as the Eels look to snap a two-match losing skid against the Cowboys.
Parramatta started the season with a bang, but the injury to Mitch Moses has predictably halted their progress and they’ve lost their two games since beating Manly, falling to the Tigers before last week’s embarrassing performance against the Raiders.
The Eels were humbled 41-8 and didn’t look like firing a shot. They are a different team without Moses leading them around the park and unfortunately Dylan Brown just doesn’t have that quality in his game.
However, this is a great chance for points. The Cowboys have leaked 20+ in their last four games and aren’t great defensively.
In saying that, North Queensland have won four of their five games on the season and this is their best chance for an away win in Parramatta in almost a decade.
Still, the Cowboys have a point to prove for me – they’ve only defeated the Dolphins, Dragons, Titans and an out-of-sorts Knights side and were battered by the Broncos 38-12. No doubt, they’ve had a cushy draw to open the season.
VERDICT:
Very tough game to call. The Eels were absolutely horrendous last week against the Raiders, but the Cowboys are usually poor on the road and their 4-1 record in 2024 is offset by an easy draw.
I can’t back the Eels on current form without Moses, so tentatively leaning with the Cowboys to edge this (Best Cowboys win H2H odds $1.60 with Dabble.)
