The Panthers target a ninth consecutive victory when they come up against the struggling Eels at BlueBet Stadium on Thursday night.

These two teams squared off in the Grand Final last season, but they couldn’t have suffered more contrasting results in 2023.

Penrith are on track for another minor premiership, flying at the top of the ladder, while it will take a huge performance from any side to deny them a historic three-peat.

Meanwhile, the Eels got off to a rocky start and never really recovered, coming into this clash having lost four of their last five games to see their finals chances evaporate.

It will be the first time since 2018 that Parramatta haven’t featured in the finals, while the loss of Mitch Moses to injury means this match could get ugly for the visitors.
