Wests Tigers vs Dragons Preview and Prediction
After letting wins slip within their grasp last week, both the Tigers and Dragons will be desperate for the two points when they collide at Bankwest on Friday night.
The Tigers led the Warriors by two points with less than 20 minutes remaining but couldn’t hold on, ultimately succumbing 30-26.
That defeat means the Tigers still haven’t won back-to-back matches since June 2020 and saw them fail to build on what was an impressive 36-18 win over the Knights during Magic Round.
Languishing in 14th spot on the ladder with just three wins from their 11 games this season, the Tigers are already in must-win territory if they harbour ambitions of making the finals.
Fortunately for them, they are coming up against one of the three teams they have beaten on Friday night in the Dragons.
St George Illawarra started the season with a bang but have come crashing back down to earth, losing five of their last six games to slip to seventh on the ladder.
The Dragons went down 13-12 in golden point last week to a Sharks side who had lost six games on the trot, while they were humbled 44-18 by a Storm side who were missing their big guns the previous week in Magic Round.
Attack has become an issue for the Dragons, with the team only scoring 20 points once in the last six weeks – and that was against the last-placed Bulldogs.
It’s a crunch game for both sides and neither are reliable at the moment. In saying that, the Tigers have won four of the last five meetings between the sides and most of those games have been relatively low-scoring. Backing the Tigers to edge this in another low-scoring and tight affair.
