Roosters vs Broncos Preview and Prediction

After crushing the Broncos in both home and away fixtures last season, the Roosters will be targeting another demolition job of their embattled opponents when the two sides clash at the SCG on Saturday.

The Roosters absolutely obliterated the Broncos in 2020, prevailing 59-0 and 58-12 in their two meetings – and with the side averaging 28 points per game in 2021 and the Broncos leaking 50 to Manly last week, it wouldn’t be surprising if a similar score played out once more.

Despite missing a host of Origin stars, including Luke Keary, Brett Morris and Lindsay Collins – the Roosters continue to impress this season and come into this clash with seven wins from 10 games to be in fifth spot on the ladder.

Trent Robinson’s side bounce back strongly from their loss to the Eels by toppling the Cowboys 30-16 last week.

James Tedesco will be licking his lips at the prospect of facing this Broncos’ defence, with the fullback crossing for eight tries in his last seven games at the SCG.

Meanwhile, the Broncos just can’t get out of their slump and are staring down the barrel of a 16th straight loss away from home here.

Brisbane appeared as if they were improving following a comeback win over the Titans and pushing the undefeated Panthers all the way, but they’ve also lost by 40+ points in the last few weeks to the Eels and Sea Eagles.

The Broncos continue to be cannon fodder for the best teams and I can’t see anything changing on Saturday.

The Roosters scored a combined 117 points against the Broncos last year, and while they may not rack up a similar total in this clash, they should be winning this with minimal fuss.
