Raiders vs Broncos Preview and Prediction

Languishing in the bottom three, both the Raiders and Broncos are in desperate need of a win when they clash at GIO Stadium on Saturday night.

Since coming agonisingly close to winning the 2019 premiership, it’s been a big fall from grace for Canberra this season.

The Raiders have lost seven of their last eight games, with their only win in that period coming against the last-placed Bulldogs, while they haven’t won at home since Round 1.

However, all is not lost for the Raiders – despite being in 14th spot on the ladder, they are just four points off the top eight.

Coming up against the embattled Broncos, this is a great chance for the Raiders to return to the winners circle and start making a charge up the ladder.

Brisbane continue to struggle after last season’s wooden spoon finish and they come into this encounter on the back of a 52-24 loss to the Dragons last week.

The Broncos have conceded 40 points or more in their last three defeats. It seems when the going gets tough, Brisbane’s defence completely shatters.

Karmichael Hunt is set to play his first NRL game since 2009 as coach Kevin Walters searches for some spark in his out-of-form side.

VERDICT:

Not much form to go by for these two struggling sides, but we will be backing the Raiders to come out on top.

Canberra have the better team and the home ground advantage, with the Broncos winning just one of their last 17 away games. With the Broncos leaking points at an alarming rate, this could turn into a big win for the Raiders if they can get off to a good start (Raiders win & over 49.5 points best odds $2.80 with Ladbrokes).
