Broncos vs Raiders Preview & Prediction

Two in-form teams collide to close out Super Saturday action as the Broncos look to chalk up their seventh straight win when they meet the Raiders.

Brisbane have put together a remarkably resurgent season so far, with their eight wins already more than they achieved in the entirety of the last two campaigns.

Adam Reynolds has been the signing of the season and the star halfback makes his return from injury for this showdown.

The Broncos were able to win their last two matches without Reynolds, downing the lowly Knights before registering a miraculous comeback from 20 points down to conquer the Titans.

Kurt Capewell is set to be rested by Kevin Walters after Origin, but fellow Selwyn Cobbo, Kotoni Staggs, Payne Haas and Patrick Carrigan are also set to back up.

Meanwhile, the Raiders have turned their season around and are on the verge of the top eight after winning four of their last five games, with their only loss coming against the Eels.

Canberra have toppled top eight teams in the Sharks, Rabbitohs and Roosters in their last three victories and once again look like finals contenders.

Joseph Tapine was incredible in the 22-16 win over the Roosters last week, notching up 20 hit-ups, 33 tackles and running for 209 metres.

The Green Machine should welcome back Origin players Josh Papalii and Jack Wighton, the latter of which crossed for the first try on Wednesday night.

VERDICT:

It should be a cracking contest if both teams maintain their current level, but with Reynolds back in the side, the Broncos have the edge at home.

Canberra haven’t been able to defeat the Broncos at Suncorp since 2010 and with the way Brisbane are travelling, they will have to produce a blistering performance to snap the 12-year streak.

Brisbane have covered the -5.5 line in all eight of their wins this season, so that’s our best bet for Saturday night (Best Broncos -5.5 line odds $1.95 with bet365.)
