Gold Coast Suns vs Western Bulldogs Preview

The Suns won their second match on the trot after defeating the Giants by one point in a heart-stopping match.

Despite being two goals down with four minutes left to play, the young Suns outfit dug deep to kick two goals in a minute in windy conditions to win one of the matches of their clubs’ short history. However, they will need to break a run of eight consecutive losses against the Bulldogs.

Star midfielder Touk Miller has improved his game dramatically this season dominating games of recent. He had 34 disposals, 11 clearances, 14 tackles and two goals to drag his side to victory. He will have to maintain his form on Saturday if the Suns have any chance of getting the four points.

Meanwhile, the Western Bulldogs will be looking to get back in the winner’s circle after losing to the Swans by 19 points.

They never really seemed to get going against Sydney, despite dominating the middle of the ground, having an extra 20 clearances and an extra 13 centre clearances. I believe you’ll see a much more deliberate approach from the Dogs on Saturday evening.

It was obvious the Dogs missed another major focal point in attack, despite Jamarra Ugle-Hagan making his long-awaited debut. They will have Aaron Naughton back for this week in a match that could be decided by ariel targets. Josh Dunkley will also likely return for his first game since Round 6.

Despite Gold Coast being in good form and having the home advantage, I can’t look past the Bulldogs in this one as they look to regain the top spot on the ladder.

Suns vs Dogs Team News

Gold Coast will be forced to make one change with Hugh Greenwood suffering a season ending MCL tear against the Giants. Josh Corbett should return to the side after having a week off with concussion.

The Dogs are set for two key inclusions, with Josh Dunkley and Aaron Naughton recovering from injuries. Jamarra Ugle-Hagan could make way for Naughton.

The two sides last met in Round 5 this season, which saw the Dogs win by 62 points.
